The visual representation of the Vigozoo brand, intends to reflect its objectives and values: the idea of a modern, familiar and cheerful zoo. The concept selected to show this is "the life of animals", where they are the players. To represent it, it has been created a dynamic visual identity with fourteen variants. The symbol consists on the representation of all the zoo areas, and each color represents the zone where is located every different area.
Redesigning this visual identity, besides being a dynamic identity, means the creation of a flexible system in some of its applications in order to reinforce the concept initially raised. The creation of the animal icons consists of a series of illustrations that will change from application to application, but share stylistic, semantic and constant elements. All pieces are different but recognizable.
Regarding to the wayfinding, the pictogram system is divided into two: areas that are represented with animal forms and the rest of zones. Both parts of the system are fully related with the identity, using the same animals in the dynamic symbol and in the signales. On the other hand, to obtain that the rest of pictograms maintain a strong link with the identity, they have been carried from the font family logo, by the split up of their characters.

This project consists on the redesign of the visual identity and wayfinding system of Vigozoo, a zoological park located in A Madroa, Vigo. The idea came from the actual need of improving the zoo's image and facilities.
